A Winter Engagement Session in the Fareway Grocery in Storm Lake, Iowa | Storm Lake Wedding Photographer
When Cassidy mentioned wanting to shoot some of her engagement photos inside the Fareway grocery in Storm Lake, I was hesitant at best! I kept thinking: how will I make a grocer look “light & airy”; how much should I blur the background to make it feel less cluttered; are their skin tones going to be funky with fluorescent lighting?
It turns out I shouldn’t have even thought twice about these things, because this engagement session with Cassidy and Ryan inside Fareway was an absolute BLAST!! It pushed my creativity in a way that hasn’t happened in a long time! Once we got in the groove, we had so much fun rolling around with the carts, creating a custom price tag for them, and choosing which snacks were their favorites! The time FLEW by and I almost forgot we wanted to shoot outside as well!
In the end, we should have stayed inside the grocery! It was FRIGID outside by the lake! I think in total we shot three sections of five minutes each, it was THAT cold! Ya’ll know what I am talking about – those “real feel” negative temps we had a few weeks ago! Imagine trying to look cute for photos out in that wind! But these two DID IT! They look adorable with the wind blown hair and the frozen lake is stunning at ANY time!
I am glad I finally got to meet Ryan and Cassidy in person during their session, but won’t see them now until October 17th! I hope you love this peek into their engagement gallery as much as I do! And if anyone wants to try shooting their session in Target next…I am ONE HUNDRED PERCENT IN!
