Rustic Pastel Wedding on Family Farm near Spencer, Iowa | Spencer Wedding Photographer
I feel so honored to have been the photographer for this wedding near Spencer, IA. Andrew and Ellie hosted a stunning wedding full of pastel and watercolor accents. It was a gorgeous mix of soft feminine touches with rustic details right at home on their family farm. The most sentimental part of the wedding day was a “family tree” on display in their reception barn. Just wait until you see it in the images.
My favorite parts of the day?
- Having Ellie’s “baby” around. He is the sweetest Great Dane named Boomer and he kept me company while shooting details and while sneaking in snacks in the house.
- The fact that “The Notebook” was on the TV the entire morning while both the bridesmaids and the groomsmen were getting ready! It’s a personal favorite since I am a hopeless romantic.
- Ellie had a separate table of Gluten Free cupcakes at the reception! I may or may not have snuck one chocolate AND one vanilla to my table!
Because I’m a photographer that loves capturing genuine joy and love between couples, this was the wedding of my dreams! Ellie and Andrew appear to be the best of friends and keep each other laughing. Even when stress spiked due to missing bouquets and a surprise rainstorm, these two stayed calm and happy throughout. They seem to have a wonderful outlook on life and truly just enjoy being together. It was refreshing to witness a love like this!
Boomer might be my new best friend!
This is the amazing family tree I was talking about. It’s a ring of a tree with engraved plaques marking the point in time (in the tree’s life) that each couple in the families were married!! This is just the coolest thing I’ve seen!
