Around eight years ago I remember meeting Kaylee for the first time when Jason and I were visiting near Sioux City, Iowa for a Dreckman Family Christmas. I remember wondering if she was really that happy and charismatic all of the time? Or was she just an excitable teenager going through a bubbly phase?
After getting to know her more, I quickly realized that the JOY that exuded from her was coming straight from her heart and that she was truly one of the most personable and happy people I had ever met. Kaylee is one of Jason’s cousin’s on the Dreckman side and I remember thinking she and her two sisters were always beautiful and fun to be around in the group. It’s sometimes hard to get a word in during a Dreckman get together, but they are always sweet and welcoming. During that season of life, I never envisioned the day when I would potentially be photographing weddings full time. I was still living in Colorado and teaching high school full time.
But life had distinct plans for me moving to Iowa and now shooting weddings. It also had distinct plans for Kaylee and Luc meeting, because they came together despite living hundreds of miles apart! Even though they come from different states (not sure how many things Iowa and Louisiana have in common), it’s easy to tell that their personalities and their lives blend seamlessly together! They each bring the right traits to their marriage and have built a connection on a strong foundation that’s supported by many friends and family.
Luc and Kaylee – I am so jealous that you’re spending your days on the beaches of Costa Rica right now, as Iowa gets even more rain! I hope you two enjoy a beautiful moment relaxing together and reliving your wedding day through these images. I cannot wait until you’re back home and I can show you the entire gallery.
PS. They added videography to their wedding photography package and I am super excited to share the sneak peek trailer with their images!!
