A Sunny Engagement Session in Cherokee, Iowa | Cherokee Engagement Photographer
I am under pressure to blog these Cherokee engagement photos, because Michael and Kourtney are getting married TOMORROW! I don’t normally procrastinate, but when I do, I wait until the very last possible moment. Go big or go home, am I right?
I really liked meeting Mike and Kourtney in person! I knew Mike wasn’t super excited for photos (I mean, what guy is?) but he was so laid back and go with the flow; he made my job easy! This was one of those sessions where my creative eye gets a little random…but they complied without question. Well, they questioned my ideas a tiny bit, but still let me give it a try! Who else would have been okay driving around a “road closed” sign, parking in a muddy spot where floodwaters had just receded, and posing next to a patch of flowers filled with bees, next to what can only be described as a huge murky puddle?
Whatever the crazy ideas I have, Cherokee is surprisingly perfect for engagement photos! We shot at the Silver Sioux rec area, a bridge under highway 59 (only me 🤪), and up at the MHI campus. No doubt, my favorite chunk of photos was on the white gravel road at the back of the MHI property!
I am so looking forward to spending the day with Kourtney and Mike for their wedding tomorrow. I think it’s going to be a blast in Cylinder. Follow me on Instagram for some “behind the scenes!”
