I had been looking forward t o Blake and Reagan’s wedding at the Marcus Community Center for almost a full year! Reagan was actually one of the first people I consistently recognized after moving to Iowa because of her job at the Wellness Center where I first worked out. She has the most welcome smile and a personality to match. She is just one of those people that makes you feel comfortable and I am sure she goes out of her way to help anyone she meets!
I didn’t meet Blake until we shot their engagement photos at Lindsay’s Flower Patch last fall. I learned two things very quickly: Blake has a non stop sense of humor and he loves to hide when having his photo taken. He kept me laughing throughout the entire session last year, which might be why they have so many “blurry” photos {just teasing, I don’t take blurry photos 😉}. He also adores the “nuzzle” poses because he can hide and he will turn almost completely away from my camera!
One of my absolute favorite photographers of all time, Katelyn James, once said even if something did go wrong, you never say the negative to the client. My bad, Katelyn, I messed up! I won’t go into details but the worst parts of the day for me included a shattered lens filter, a large number of camera errors and a foggy lenses from the humidity. The shattered lens was obviously a big blow for me, and I burst into tears when I had to tell both Blake and Raegan what was going on. Now, before Katelyn can yell at me, I HAD to tell them – I am literally an open book and anyone in the bridal party could see emotion written all over my face.
For Reagan some of the obstacles were extreme heat and humidity and a veil that just didn’t want to glide across the carpeting easily. But these two absolutely blew me away! They handled each and every challenge with grace – not even a flinch! It was apparent that they were so joyful and grateful on their wedding day, that nothing else mattered.
Thank you, Blake and Reagan, for being so patient and compassionate with me on one of the hardest weddings days I’ve encountered! I am SO pleased with the photos and the video we shot throughout the day, and I hope you truly love them as much as I do! Congratulations again! Now enjoy the sneak peek and I am crossing fingers for a couple more tears!
