Samantha and Jordan planned their wedding near Blair, Nebraska at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and South Creek Event Center. We shot their engagement photos last July, and it was almost as hot as their wedding day. Bless the brave souls that plan weddings in July in Iowa!
Despite spending most of the day dabbing sweat off our faces, every moment of Jordan and Samantha’s wedding day was sweet! From the delicate white and blush details, to Samantha’s first look with her Dad and tear-filled dance with her Mom, to the laughs shared between the two as we walked through grass fields at sunset. The entire day was perfect from my perspective and I hope it was everything they dreamed of.
I’ve made a habit of including the “moments Breezy cried” in each blog post, and this one is funny! I hadn’t cried at all until Samantha’s Dad stood up and gave his toast. He told the crowd the story of a night when Samantha was supposed to be going out with friends. When she said they were there, he looked outside and saw a young man in the car instead. He said “apparently the door was broken,” so he decided to go out and check on the young man. He asked if Jordan was alright and Jordan simply replied “I think so.” Now, seven years later they sat side by side sharing laughs and tears on their wedding day!
I am not sure why that was the moment that got me choked up, but it reminded my that a marriage is more than just two people. It combines two families, adding parents and children to each side. It was so endearing to hear Jordan’s new father in law tell a silly story about meeting him years ago and tell it with such love.
Congratulations, Samantha and Jordan! Thank you so much for inviting me in to this monumental moment in your lives. I loved every minute I got to spend with you!
