I was so excited to shoot Brennon and Clare’s wedding hosted at the Little Sioux Event Center in Cherokee! There is a group of four best friends that I met about three years ago when one of them googled “Cherokee Wedding Photographer.” Jenna was the first in the group to get married, followed by Jessica and now it was Clare’s turn! I have had the privilege to photograph all of the weddings and even though they’re the most close knit group of friends I know, all of their weddings have been unique, personal and SO much freaking fun!
Clare and Brennon’s wedding was more “rustic” or country than the others, but just as tasteful and beautiful! I loved the invitations that Clare designed herself, featuring beautiful watercolor shades of emerald green! She even hand lettered every envelope before sending off the invitations! The greenery was spot on for a winter wedding, and when Paige brought in the bouquets, you could smell the evergreen right away! It was heavenly!
Both Clare and Brennon were surrounded by family and friends the entire day! They have a group of good people with which they have strong bonds and it’s clear that their friendships will stand the test of time!
No wedding blog is complete without a declaration of how challenging the Iowa weather was…and this was NO exception! When I checked the weather the temperature was 12 degrees, and the real feel was 1. ONE degree!!! I struggled with my camera, because camera’s dislike cold just as much as I do! But I didn’t struggle at all with the bride and the groom! They tolerated the chilly weather as long as possible and we managed to snag some incredibly beautiful sunset portraits, glittering falling snow and all!
Congratulations again, Brennon and Clare. Thank you so much for including me in your special day and trusting me with these precious memories!
