Hey!

I don’t even know where to start with this blog post…I have so much to say and SO many photos to share! Just a warning before you read any further, this one is going to be photo overload! I had such a hard time narrowing down my favorite image for this post! I even needed extra time getting it ready today!

After a two weekend break, I continued my fall wedding season with a roller coaster wedding that had the most breathtaking ending! Kyle and Brianna’s backyard wedding in Norwalk was a total dream! This wedding had it all! Some gorgeous color palates, some rustic touches, a big white tent, some rain, some run and the most incredible newlyweds.

Kyle and Brianna are two of the sweetest, most caring people I’ve ever met, that will do anything to help a neighbor!  From the moment I met Brianna at a bridal show last year, I knew they were going to be special clients! After their engagement sessions, I knew that I was right! Brianna’s laughter is infectious, and when you combine it with Kyle’s kind spirit and the way these two love each other, it’s all I could ever ask for!

Things were not all rainbows and roses wedding day though, as a very chilly Iowa storm settled in for the weekend! It started with lots of rain Thursday through Saturday morning, and the schedule got pushed back, since things couldn’t be set up while it was pouring! Jason and I even showed up ready to rock and roll sporting our muck boots from home because of how muddy we planned on it being! But we showed up to a large group of oddly calm people who felt blessed by the day instead of frustrated with the circumstances! This group of groomsmen and bridesmaids were the most helpful group I’ve encountered, offering to help me carry things and move things, and even being good sports about taking all of their photos in the on-again off-again rain!
Fast forward three or four hours, after the details and getting ready photos, after the posed portraits and the sun comes out in all it’s glory just in time for the ceremony! The bride and groom could not have asked for a more beautiful setting for their vows! Speaking of their vows, I will admit right now that I lost all of my mascara during them! These two were so sweet, so cute with their individually written vows! They made them funny, personal, sincere and incredibly romantic! It pulled at my heart strings and made me nostalgic for all of the things I promised Jason in my own vows!
Once all the guests hit the tent for supper and dancing, the party began and boy do these girls love to dance! They kept it moving even though I know Brianna’s feet were soaked and muddy from all the walking around earlier! Brides – you know that I can’t resist the Cupid Shuffle, the Wobble, or the Cha-Cha slide! They’re my jams – what can I say?
But not even the impressive collective dance skills could top the ending of the reception, because Kyle and Brianna had NO idea whatsoever that they’re parents had surprised them with a horse drawn carriage ride back into town!! We did their beautiful sparkler exit (shout out to Belinda who remembered to buy the extra long sparklers – they’re a MUST for sparkler exits) and then the two newlyweds packed up and headed off in the stunning white carriage covered in white roses! Truly a fairytale wedding moment if I’ve ever seen one!

Brianna and Kyle, thank you for reminding me why I feel so blessed to get to do what I do. It’s couples like you that make this the best job in the world!
