I know it’s not wedding Wednesday the day this blog post will drop, but I didn’t want to rush it. Colin and Ali have been so patient with me this week, and I didn’t want to keep them waiting just to read a half-thought out blog post! They got married last Friday near Sioux City at Tucker Hill Vineyard in a romantic rainy day wedding.
I met these two in person back when we shot their engagement session and I knew right away that they are literally two of the sweetest people I’ve ever worked with. They are smiley and soft-spoken, and go with whatever crazy ideas I have without question. I mean, shooting their engagement session inside a movie theater was probably one of the more creative things I’ve come up with! And then on their wedding day, it was SO rainy, so me asking Ali to work outside for portraits was probably a bit crazy too! But no worries, we kept the umbrellas close by and kept the clear shower curtain under Ali’s gown as to not mess it up.
I loved celebrating my birthday with these two! This was my first birthday to fall on a wedding day since I went full time, and it was a blast! They kept me going with all the hugs, popcorn, and Reese’s Pieces a girl could ever want! Not to mention, the scenery around Tucker Hill was beautiful in the overcast weather with the fall colors popping off the hillside! Thank you, Colin and Ali, for inviting me to be with you on your big day! I loved your friends and family so so much, and hope that this memories are precious to you for years to come! I have no doubt Ali’s house is full of photo frames from Hobby Lobby that we can now fill with beautiful wedding photographs!

These veil shots are me absolute favorite! This is why I say a long, long veil is worth it for photos!!

How fun is this one??

Ali was after my heart using bright pink even in an autumn wedding!!

That awkward moment when only one person in the bridal party wants to jump!

I spent way too long during the ceremony messing with the bokeh and these twinkle lights! All the heart eyes!

These two haven’t gone fishing in a while, but hopefully they find more time to soon! So glad you “caught the one.”
