I'm Jessica (my friends call me Breezy) and I am a photographer serving the Sioux City area.

I first met with Cody and Ellen over chips and queso at the longest consultation ever, because we bonded over our mutual love of dogs, Mexican food, and all things related to Pinterest. Ellen is my spirit twin and I absolutely adore these two! I loved every chance I got to spend time with them, from their engagement session where I got an ab workout laughing so much, to my JBP couples’ barbecue where we stood around chatting for hours! These two are hilarious, and you’re truly blessed if you get to know them and be in their lives!
I waited eighteen long months for their wedding day to come. I was prepared for pretty much anything, because I wasn’t quite sure what all Ellen was going to throw at me that day. I picked up my assistant and we drove up to Canton, SD. Things were not off to a good start, because Siri had us driving all over the countryside, and I missed a turn and then cell service dropped at the most inopportune time. Needless to say I was a bit frazzled when we finally arrived, but Ellen had me laughing the minute I walked into the getting ready room and she instantly calmed my nerves. Isn’t that supposed to be the other way around?
Of all the crazy (possibly downright insane) ideas that we had sent each other over the last year, I was incredibly impressed with the theme that Cody and Ellen had pulled together and maintained throughout their entire wedding day. From the oh-so-funny invitations to her beautiful green velvet boots, the jewel tone look of their wedding was stunning. I could talk for paragraphs about the flowers, the dresses, the barn (OH! the barn!), but what always sticks out more to me is the connection that the couple has. Ellen could be described as a bit nervous, which took me by surprise, because she’s so laid back. But the instant she saw Cody, they laughed and hugged and you could just feel that all was right in their world. Now that’s a marriage built on a foundation of true friendship!
Ellen’s vows were my absolute favorite part of the day. I remember at one point she mentioned how much she had prayed for a man like him to come along and how thankful she has been ever since meeting him. Then, ever the comedian, she threw in how “smokin’ hot” he is with his award-worthy beard! How cute is that? Cody may have his hands full with Ellen’s personality and free spirit, but they are truly a great match for one another! I hope all of their plans and dreams come true in their marriage, including all the puppies and “nuggets” that their hearts desire. Congratulations Ellen and Cody! You’re day was beautiful and romantic and so much fun. Thank you for inviting me to be part of this huge milestone in your lives!
