Cherokee, Iowa, Engagement Session in the Country | Cherokee Engagement Photographer

I realized I *really* needed to get Brennon and Clare’s country Cherokee engagement session blogged…I mean their wedding is  THIS WEEKEND! Goodness, I got behind on work this year. Better late than never, and I want to make sure they got their moment in the spotlight.

I am digging through the archives, so to say, as we shot their engagement photos back at the end of August! The sun still set late, the days were still warm, and the sun was the most beautiful glow-y color that we get at the end of summer. We spent the evening driving backroads and exploring pasture land, finding fun places to shoot.

Usually I reserve the words “adventure session” to shoots where we drive up mountains or hike up waterfalls…but I think I would file this one in with adventure because we were huffing it up the STEEPEST hill in the entire pasture and tripping over cow patties! I normally wear sneakers or muck boots, but for whatever reason I thought that was a great night for sandals! #photogfail My favorite part of the session was when we drove up to the spot we wanted to shoot, the entire herd of cows was running around the truck and this semi-city-girl was a little anxious about the entire thing. Don’t get me wrong, I love cows, I especially love burgers…but I am not sure I’m a fan of that many cows running up to me!

All adventures aside, these two must be smitten with each other! They had the most adorable cuddles and giggles in all the images! I couldn’t stop shooting for a second because they were always doing something cute!
