Last weekend’s double header wedding weekend was one for the books, with a great ending for this Avalon Ballroom Wedding! The weekend started on Friday with Kevin and Sophie. Even though I woke up on Saturday a bit tired already, I was so excited to go see Kelsey and spend her wedding day next to her! Bonding over our love of tiny dogs, country boys, and all things of the simple life, Kelsey and I have become good friends over the last year! I was honored to shoot their Remsen, Iowa, Avalon Ballroom wedding, but it also felt a bit bittersweet.

There were so many sweet and sentimental moments during their day, but one of my absolute favorites didn’t come until the very end of the day during their first dance. I will never know what sweet promises they were making together while alone on the dance floor, but the pinky promise they threw up during their first dance had me in tears! It was such a sweet moment for them, and I might have been the only one that noticed at the time.

These two laughed, cried, danced, and laughed some more throughout the entire day! They were surrounded by close friends and family that all love them very much, and it was not lost on me how cool it is to be included in that group of people! I am so appreciative of even having my own seat and name card with the special guests at the front of this Avalon Ballroom Wedding! Congratulations again, Dereck and Kelsey!
