Mason and Maggie were my last wedding of the 2017 year and they finished things up with a bang! I will let you in a secret: I was desperately hoping for snow on their wedding day, since it was the first day of December. But I was severely disappointed by the sunny, unseasonably warm day we got! Okay, it was pleasant and super helpful from a photography stand point, but I reserve the right to be bummed that I didn’t get any snow weddings this year! Fingers crossed for my 2018 season!
Maggie and I first met for lunch, where I overindulged on French fries and she graciously didn’t judge me, and we chatted about all things wedding for a long while! I became super excited when realizing she was a dream bride! She had all the sparkly details in mind and had thought of literally everything! I could tell that she would be a perfect JBP Bride because she was bubbly and excited the entire time!
I met Mason for the first time at their engagement session. We met in Sioux City and it was the most beautiful evening! Again, they were nonjudgmental even when I was freaking out about the little deer that came through the meadow and I was bouncing around trying to photograph it! I knew then, that if they could tolerate that type of tog-behavior, that we were a bride-groom-tog match made in heaven! It’s amazing how infectious Maggie’s personality is! She’s upbeat and joyous all the time! Usually brides are excited at the beginning of the session, but it wears off after a couple of hours of shooting, but not Maggie! She and Mason are people that see the glass as half full in all things. They can be drenched in sweat and exhausted from photos, and still laugh and joke with me in the parking lot before leaving!
All of that combined made me so anxiously excited for their wedding day to finally arrive last weekend! It was seriously an incredible day for December, reaching almost 50 degrees! These two have a love for their family and their values and that was an evident theme throughout the entire day! They were surrounded by loving friends and family, and absolutely doted upon the entire day through! In their speeches, both Maggie and Mason thanked their new in-laws for raising exceptional children and I was awestruck, thinking how sweet that is, on the first day as a daughter or son-in-law, that you would think to thank your spouse’s parents for raising him/her. Not everyone thinks that way and it made a huge impression on me that their values shined brightly through every moment of their wedding.
I am so excited for them and their future! The connection that they share is youthful, energetic and whole-heartedly genuine! I can’t wait to share with you their beautiful wedding day, that included sparkle, lovebirds, close family and friends and so many moments overflowing with laughter! Thank you for allowing me to be part of your special moments! I have grown to love and adore you both!
