What an INCREDIBLE wedding to end the 2019 season!!! I typically don’t have any December weddings, but this year kept me busy with THREE. All of them were unique and special, and Mike and Ashley’s wedding this past Saturday was perfect for the last wedding of the entire decade! Mike and Ashley spent their day surrounded by very close friends and family, the most important loved ones in their lives. Needless to say, everyone was SO EXCITED for this day to come! They have been waiting so long and were SO deserving of the most wonderful wedding day.
There were SO many reasons I was waiting for this day…and it didn’t disappoint! The energy from the very beginning of the day was so contagiously joyful. The bridesmaids, family and especially Mike’s daughter were bubbly with anticipation for them to FINALLY be husband and wife. We definitely had our work cut out for us with very chilly weather with LOTS of rain. They say it’s good luck for their marriage, but it threw us for a loop the day of. We had to be a bit more creative and patient when it came to all outdoor photos.
The entire bridal party was fantastic to work with! Even though the ladies were freezing cold, they held their shawls, umbrellas, and wine tumblers with class and sass which made for some incredibly memorable portraits! My favorite part was when the entire bridal party helped me block traffic in downtown Sioux City to get an epic dip kiss under the new string lights!
Mike and Ashley: Thank you so much for choosing me to document your special day! It was a joy to work with you both – and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end out my year than with you two! Mike, thank you for keeping me on my toes and the constant humor. Ashley, thank you for being an awesome bride to work with and helping me keep Mike in check *wink, wink*. I hope you adore this post of my favorite images as much as I adore you both!
